We're seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to drive delivery of a large-scale data migration and integration program within a major enterprise operating in the Financial-Services domain.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on SQL and SSIS expertise with proven experience leading distributed delivery teams across onshore and offshore environments. This role will oversee the end-to-end migration of critical business and customer data as part of a platform transition initiative. You'll coordinate activities across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes while remaining technically hands-on in design, development, and testing. The position requires a mix of technical depth, leadership, and delivery discipline in a time-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical delivery for data migration and integration streams across onshore and offshore teams.

Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server and SSIS.

Oversee development, testing, and deployment of stored procedures, data mappings, and transformation logic.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.

Drive data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning activities.

Partner with project management and testing functions to support dress rehearsals and production cutovers.

Maintain governance, documentation, and compliance with internal data standards and audit controls.

Skills & Experience

8+ years' experience in data engineering, ETL, or data migration, with prior leadership responsibilities.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and optimization).

Strong hands-on experience with SSIS for data migration, integration, and automation.

Proven track record delivering complex data migration or system consolidation projects in enterprise or financial-services environments.

Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and cutover readiness.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and business teams.

Bonus: exposure to modern cloud or data-engineering tools (Azure Data Factory, dbt, Redshift, or Python).
