At Konnexus, we're partnering with a trusted client who is looking to bring on a Senior Data Engineer in Sydney or Melbourne. This role involves leading data driven solution that help to transform clients' landscapes and solve problems through the power of data. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be great on the tools and speaking with non-technical stakeholders, with opportunity to lead & mentor junior members in the team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and maintain scalable data models
  • Help establish modern data platforms and integrate legacy / on-prem systems into the new environment
  • Leading SQL based data transformations using tools like dbt and Coalesce
  • Develop and implement ETL/ELT pipelines for transforming raw data into structured datasets
  • End-to-end data engineering work (from source system integration to transformation and feeding into analytics platforms to deliver insights)
  • Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout various projects
  • Working with junior engineers to help upskills them whilst learning from capability leads to further develop your own skills

What you'll bring:

  • Over 5 years of advanced SQL experience with large datasets and complex queries.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end data engineering solutions & working with modern data platforms
  • Strong experience implementing Snowflake data platform with supporting experience working with Azure, AWS, Databricks or Fabric
  • Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and modern transformation tools like dbt and Coalesce
  • Proven ability to create engaging and insightful data visualisations
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with technical & non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading projects or small teams in the data engineering space
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
