About Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of insurance restoration services, specialising in the recovery of residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, storm, and mould damage. They take pride in delivering professional, high-quality work while helping property owners get back on their feet quickly and safely.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated Casual Trainee Technician to join their team in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build a long-term career in a hands-on, fast-paced industry.

About the Role

As a Trainee Restoration Technician, you'll work alongside experienced and accredited professionals, assisting with a variety of property restoration projects. This is a minimum 35-hour-per-week role, offering structured on-the-job training, the opportunity to complete IICRC certification, and the potential to transition into a full-time position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with restoration works including water extraction, structural drying, cleaning, and mould remediation
  • Support with light demolition tasks such as removing plasterboard, skirting, vinyl, carpet, and underlay
  • Help with contents inventory, packing, and relocation
  • Learn to operate industry-specific equipment and moisture detection tools
  • Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, builders, and insurers
  • Record project progress, including photos and job notes, using mobile or tablet apps

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn – no prior experience required
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication and presentation
  • Works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Current Driver's Licence (manual preferred)
  • Construction White Card – desirable but not essential
