About the role

Scotch Oakburn College, a leading independent school in Launceston, Tasmania, is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Early Learning to oversee our exceptional Early Learning program. This full-time role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the highest quality educational experiences for our young learners.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development and implementation of a dynamic early learning curriculum that aligns with the National Quality Standard and Early Years Learning Framework
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Early Learning Centre, including staffing, resource management, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
  • Foster strong relationships with families, actively engaging them in their children's learning and development
  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership team to integrate the Early Learning program within the wider school community
  • Drive continuous improvement through the monitoring and evaluation of the Early Learning program
  • Represent the Early Learning Centre and advocate for high-quality Early Childhood Education

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Minimum Diploma qualification required for this position
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the early learning sector
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing engaging, play-based learning programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Thorough understanding of the National Quality Standard, Early Years Learning Framework, and relevant Early Childhood Education regulations
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for delivering exceptional early learning experiences
  • ACECQA approval required for this position
