About the role

As a Logistics Assistant/Driver Manager at Vickery Bros Pty Ltd, you will play a key role in the effective management and coordination of the company's transportation and logistics operations. This full-time position is based in Coleraine, VIC 3315 and will involve overseeing a team of drivers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of fertiliser and associated goods.

What you'll be doing

Coordinating the daily activities and schedules of the driver team to optimise delivery routes and minimise delays

Monitoring driver performance and providing support and guidance to ensure high levels of customer service

Communicating with clients to provide updates on deliveries and address any concerns or issues that arise

Maintaining accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and other relevant data

Assisting with the recruitment, training, and development of new drivers as required

Collaborating with the wider logistics team to identify and implement process improvements

What we're looking for

Minimum 5+ years of logistics or transport coordination experience required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of drivers

Supervisory experience in team leadership or staff management is essential

Proficient in using logistics management software and data analysis tools

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle unexpected situations

Thorough understanding of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and best practices

A valid driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of commercial vehicles

Heavy Combination (HC) truck licence is required

Agricultural or fertiliser industry experience is preferred but not essential
