This government agency plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and welfare of its workforce. You'll be part of a dedicated team that ensures employees navigating medical retirement and compensation schemes receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support.

Your new role

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather documentation and information that informs medical retirement and compensation claim decisions.
  • Consult with medically retiring or retired employees to collate detailed case information.
  • Provide responsive advice on scheme management, policies, and procedures.
  • Interpret medical terminology, legislation, and entitlements to guide employees and Officers in Charge (OICs).
  • Assess incoming compensation scheme applications for compliance with the Police Act 1892 and associated regulations.
  • Maintain accurate case notes in the Health Welfare Safety Compensation Retirement Management (CRM) system.
  • Coordinate communications that promote early intervention and support services for ill or injured employees.
  • Provide administrative support including invoice processing, HR functions, and budget tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and undertake other duties as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting legislation, policy, and medical documentation.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of compensation schemes and retirement processes (desirable).
  • Previous experience in HR, case management, or government advisory roles
