The Apprentice Security Technician will be responsible for theInstallation, commissioning and service of various security technology, incorporating alarm, CCTV and access control systems under close supervision.

The successful applicant will require the necessary qualifications and licenses (ACT & NSW) to undertake the following tasks:

  • Understanding and following plans and instructions for security equipment and systems under supervision
  • Installing, repairing, testing and maintaining security equipment and systems under supervision
  • Programming (hardware and firmware), configuration and commissioning of electronic security equipment and systems under supervision
  • Recording data on testing techniques, equipment and other work under supervision
  • Reporting findings and results to colleagues
  • Identifying materials needed for new work projects
  • Knowledge of information and communications technology (ICT)
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements are followed.

It is essential that the applicants must have (or have the ability to obtain):

  • ACT Security Licence
  • Completion of Certificate III Electronics and Communication through an on the job apprenticeship
  • Australian Citizenship/Australian Birth Certificate
  • Unrestricted Driver's Licence
  • NSW Security Licence
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical

  • Must have a clean criminal record
  • Must have good written and spoken English
