We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Specialist – O&M Power to join us in our Operations & Maintenance team in Mount Isa on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Station Manager, you will play a key role in providing expert guidance and leadership in engineering projects and teams. Applying advanced knowledge and skills in engineering principles, methods, and tools. Solving complex technical problems and delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for engineering projects and teams across various domains and disciplines.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and skills in engineering principles, methods, and tools to design, develop, test, and implement complex and innovative solutions.
  • Solve challenging technical problems and provide effective and efficient solutions that meet the requirements and expectations of the customers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in engineering and related fields.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior engineers and other staff members on engineering concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external partners, such as project managers, engineers, vendors, consultants, and regulators.

Your background

  • Expertise and experience in one or more engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, civil, software, or biomedical engineering.
  • Proficiency and competence in using various engineering tools, software, and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and inspire others.

The Operations & Maintenance team exist to safely operate APA Power, Transmission, Midstream and Network assets in an efficient and cost-effective manner to enable APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers.
