The Opportunity
Based from our Ultimo office, you'll play a key role in mentoring MEGT apprentices and trainees while managing host employer relationships and supporting long-term, meaningful employment outcomes.
Reporting to the State Service Delivery Manager, this varied role combines mentoring, case management, providing support and guidance to young people, with a focus on both their physical and psychological safety, while working with employers on continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct regular site visits to provide mentoring and support to apprentices/trainees
- Identify and address any issues or barriers affecting training or employment progress
- Coordinate with RTOs and employers to ensure training plans are on track
- Facilitating the rotations of trainees to alternative host employers where required.
- Ensuring appropriate administration support is provided to Apprentices/Trainees.
- Ensure the safety of apprentices/trainees from induction to completion, including by performing WHS checks and assist with injury management/return-to-work plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with host employers
- Source new host businesses and generate opportunities for apprentices
- Promote MEGT services to industry partners and stakeholders
About you
You're a proactive, empathetic, and solutions-focused professional who thrives on helping others succeed. You'll bring:
- Strong mentoring, customer service or case management experience
- Familiarity with the VET sector (highly regarded)
- Experience in the trades and/or business administration and/or IT Industries, or working with apprentices/trainees (advantageous)
- Business development or account management experience
- Strong digital literacy across Microsoft Suite and CRM platforms
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements
- Confidence in engaging with diverse stakeholders
- Passion for youth engagement and supporting long-term employment outcomes
- A current driver licence
