Desalination Construction Lead
in

.

As Construction Lead, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading the development of the construction methodology, staging, and delivery strategy for the Desalination Plant during the tender phase of the Northern Water Project.

This is a pre-construction, office-based role, focused on planning and shaping the construction approach, with no physical construction taking place during this stage. The role ensures that the proposed construction methodology for the desalination plant is safe, feasible, efficient, and aligned with the overall bid strategy.

The role provides vital technical and engineering support across all mechanical aspects of the plant including pipework, pumping systems, modular process units, and mechanical packages. It is envisaged that this position will flow to execution (if project is awarded) in equivalent position.

  • Work closely with estimators to inform work packaging, subcontracting strategy, and construction productivity assumptions.
  • Support the planning team in building a realistic construction schedule, with focus on desalination plant sequencing and critical path analysis.
  • Identify and document construction risks and corresponding mitigation strategies for inclusion in the bid.
  • Provide technical input to procurement strategy, particularly where construction method influences subcontract scope, timing, or delivery risks: DfM and modularization.
  • Attend workshops and JV coordination meetings, contributing technical construction insights specific to the desalination facility.
