About QATSICPP
The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) is the peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child protection and youth justice for all children and young people in Queensland. QATSICPP works to influence policy, build sector capacity, and advocate for culturally strong, community-led systems that uphold the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families, and communities in the child protection system and for all children and young people in the youth justice system.
About the role:
The Delegated Authority (DA) Manager leads the development, implementation, and ongoing project management of delegated authority initiatives across the community-controlled sector. This role strengthens the capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations across Queensland to provide human services for children, young people, and families. The DA Manager will lead a dedicated team, work alongside community leaders and sector partners, and ensure delegated authority services are delivered safely, effectively, and in a culturally responsive, community-led way.
This is a fixed term role for 2 years.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the development, implementation, and delivery of delegated authority initiatives across Queensland.
- Manage the delegated authority team, resources, and day-to-day operations to achieve workplan objectives.
- Provide high-level operational and program management advice to stakeholders.
- Facilitate sector-wide forums, networks, and workshops to provide practice support and guidance.
- Develop and implement quality systems, tools, and procedures to support effective service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative, and constructive relationships with community-controlled organisations, key stakeholders, and partners.
- Monitor and report on project progress, emerging issues, and strategic opportunities to senior management.
- Represent QATSICPP professionally in forums, networks, and stakeholder interactions.
Professional Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate qualification in a related field, or extensive experience in child protection practice.
- Proven experience leading a team in a key reform initiative for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
- Project management experience, ideally in scaling system-wide initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
- Knowledge of child protection systems, practice, and legislative frameworks.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Queensland Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.
- Ability and willingness to travel across Queensland and other states as required.
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
