What you'll do:

As Senior Manager Risk Culture, you will be responsible for leading comprehensive reviews that delve into the underlying behaviours shaping risk management across the organisation. Your day-to-day work will involve designing surveys, analysing data sets, engaging stakeholders through interviews and focus groups, and synthesising findings into impactful reports. Success in this role hinges on your ability to interpret complex cultural dynamics using behavioural science principles while building trust with senior leaders during feedback sessions. You will collaborate with a knowledgeable team whose expertise spans psychology, analytics, audit, and people & culture-ensuring every review is thorough and insightful. By translating nuanced observations into actionable recommendations that align with strategic objectives, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening risk-aware behaviours throughout the enterprise.

  • Lead end-to-end risk culture reviews from survey design and data analysis through to stakeholder engagement, report writing, and actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits and assessments of risk culture across multiple divisions using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Apply principles of behavioural science and organisational psychology to evaluate how cultural factors support or hinder effective risk management throughout the organisation.
  • Build credibility and rapport with senior stakeholders by facilitating challenging conversations around cultural findings and driving constructive change.
  • Support or lead focus groups, interviews, and surveys to gather rich insights into organisational behaviours and attitudes related to risk.
  • Produce detailed reports that translate complex findings into practical recommendations aligned with established frameworks and objectives.
  • Shadow existing reviews initially before progressing towards independent delivery of full-scale risk culture assessments by April.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from diverse backgrounds including psychology, data analytics, audit, and people & culture to ensure robust review processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team by refining methodologies and sharing best practices for evaluating cultural dynamics.
  • Ensure all activities comply with governance standards while supporting planning and resource allocation for ongoing projects.

What you bring:

To excel as Senior Manager Risk Culture you will bring a blend of academic grounding in organisational psychology or behavioural science alongside hands-on experience conducting culture assessments within banking or financial services. Your proven track record managing complex audits demonstrates your ability to navigate diverse stakeholder interests while maintaining objectivity. Exceptional communication skills are essential-not only for producing clear reports but also for facilitating honest discussions around sensitive cultural issues. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to build trust quickly with senior leaders even when presenting challenging feedback. Familiarity with data analytics tools enhances your capacity to interpret survey results meaningfully while consulting experience adds valuable perspective on best practices for psychosocial risk reviews. Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Organisational Psychology, Behavioural Science or related discipline focused on culture & risk.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk culture or broader culture reviews within banking, regulatory bodies or consulting/advisory environments (second or third line of defence).
  • Proven stakeholder management skills including comfort delivering difficult feedback constructively to senior leaders.
  • Excellent report writing abilities coupled with strong presentation skills for communicating complex findings clearly.
  • Experience managing complex audits or reviews across geographies and business units within financial services.
  • Deep understanding of behavioural risk factors influencing organisational decision-making processes.
