About the role  

As our Manager, Rural Pathways & Rural Generalist Training, you'll lead and implement innovative rural GP training models that improve healthcare access and workforce sustainability in rural and remote communities. The role requires a leader with a passion for improved rural health outcomes, and the energy and drive to engage widely with external stakeholders on complex rural health related topics, issues and opportunities. Reporting to the Head of RACGP Rural with a dotted line to Manager Rural Member Support for rural generalist activities, you'll manage all aspects of rural and rural generalist training, from selection and placements to supervisor education and post-fellowship planning.

As our Manager, Rural Pathways & Rural Generalist Training, you'll also:  

  • lead rural training initiatives, inspiring your team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • manage end-to-end rural training processes, including hospital training, facility accreditation, and registrar placements.
  • build strong relationships with rural stakeholders, registrars, supervisors, and practices.
  • drive continuous improvement and project innovation to strengthen rural training delivery.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in service delivery or program management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially in rural or health settings.
  • Experience in project and change management.
  • Extensive knowledge of rural health, or the ability to quickly develop expertise.
