We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef
to lead our kitchen team. This is a senior leadership role suited to a Head Chef with proven experience managing busy à la carte kitchen teams, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and a passion for developing people and creating great food.
Working closely with the
Food & Beverage Manager
, you'll take ownership of the kitchen's performance, ensuring quality, consistency, and inspire a culture built on professionalism, accountability, and pride.
Day-to-day focus:
- Lead, coordinate, and motivate kitchen staff during prep and service to ensure efficient and consistent operations
- Manage kitchen rosters and timesheets, ensuring appropriate coverage and smooth daily operations
- Take responsibility for food ordering, stock rotation, and cost control
- Mentor and develop chefs, cooks and apprentices through hands-on training and regular feedback
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
- Uphold and model strict WHS, food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to plan menus, deliver objectives, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Minimum 10 years' cooking experience and 3+ years in a Head Chef role within a busy à la carte or high-volume kitchen.
- Demonstrate proven leadership and people management skills with a collaborative approach
- Show strong financial understanding, including cost control, budgeting, and wastage management
- Be passionate about food, innovation, and delivering consistently high standards
- Have excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Possess a solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements

Roster expectations:
- 38-hour per week roster
- Being present at the business at key times during restaurant operation, which will include working split shifts, weekends and public holidays.
