Senior Systems Engineer, Modern Workplace

Job Description:
IT consulting organisation with a collaborative, diverse and dynamic culture requires a Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing team.
The role
- To support and manage modern workplace systems and cloud technologies such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, as well as Microsoft Azure hosting, Windows servers as virtual machines on various hosting platforms (VMWare or Hyper-V)
- Conduct simple presales engagements and assist the Consultants and Sales team in modern workplace and cloud compute solutioning, statements of works and work breakdown structures.
- You will be working with clients Microsoft solutions that are transforming the way they do business. With security a key focus, the role will also leverage your broad technical knowledge to help shape and manage the systems to the clients requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical client engagement and customer service - manage client solutions end to end
- Ensure that all systems are scalable, reliable, efficient and secured.
- Solution staging, system configuration, implementation, patching, testing, cutover and documentation.
- Onboarding of new customers with detailed infrastructure auditing.
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Technical Lead overseeing project delivery working closely with the Project Manager
- Transition completed projects to support process including as-built documentation.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Tertiary qualification in IT, or Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field highly desirable
- Industry certification to Microsoft Azure/365 Administrator Associate or equivalent.
- Motor vehicle licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
- Industry-related experience in a MSP or outsourced IT environment
- Mastery of M365 with strong skills in Cloud computing, Azure,VMWare
- Solid understanding of Modern Management tools such as Intune, AutoPilot
- Experience in identifying vulnerabilities and configuring systems to enhance endpoint security posture.
- In-depth understanding of M365 Mail and securing email systems for email spam filtering.
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Powershell, JSON, Python, Perl)
