Our Transition to Work (TtW) program provides tailored employment and education support to young people aged 15-24, who are at risk of long-term unemployment in the North-Western Melbourne Metropolitan and Barwon Employment Regions. Our TtW team works towards the same, purpose-led goal of improving lives through dignity and choice. We have a new opportunity for you to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
Previous experience working with young people is preferred. Prior experience in employment services and working with a caseload is not essential but will be highly regarded. This position will be working onsite to support our offices in Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Sunbury, with some offsite travel required to meet with employers and participants.

The role:
-
Provide post-education support functions to young people
-
Provide ongoing post-employment support to both the employer and young person to maintain the region's job placements

Identify potential fall outs from employment or disengagement from education, and promptly implement strategies to support the young person
-
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds is preferred, as you will be working people facing various barriers to employment to overcome any workplace challenges

Maintain accurate records and collate information, such as payslips, invoices, and wage subsidies in a timely manner

Escalate at-risk outcomes and wage subsidies to the Regional Manager immediately
-
Build and maintain employer relationships to increase engagement and retention rates, while also securing extra business through lead generation

Ability to adhere to strict compliance frameworks and contractual reporting requirements
-
Be adaptable and responsive to community and key stakeholder needs
About you:

A Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Community Services or related discipline is preferred

Prior experience working with young people and/or within the employment services sector, especially in post-placement support (PPS) is preferred but not essential

Current driver's licence and Working with Children's Check card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel is essential

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for developing and strengthening relationships with new and existing employers

Knowledge and understanding of issues that affect young people's engagement with education and employment

Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed KPIs

You must have a passion for improving young people's lives through the creation of opportunities
