Expressions of Interests for Independent Vehicle Inspectors
RACQ Automotive Services is seeking experienced trade qualified mechanics to work as our Independent Mobile Vehicle Inspectors. The areas we cover currently are Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast with a view to expand to other areas in the near future.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Use your mechanical expertise to conduct a range of vehicle inspections for RACQ Members and commercial customers
  • You will assist our members and customers by inspecting and testing a wide range of motor vehicles utilising various inspection procedures and report types.
  • You will answer a range of technical questions relating to the inspections carried out, providing accurate and comprehensive advice and reports.
  • Documenting the outcomes of your inspections.

Essential Requirements

  • Automotive Mechanic trade qualifications.
  • Hold or can acquire Approved Examiner (AE) licence from Qld Transport to issue Safety Certificates (RWC).
  • Open Australian Driver's License.
  • ABN.
  • Suitable equipment to carry out Inspections (list will be provided).
  • Own mobile Phone or tablet.
  • Hold own insurances and public liability policies.

  • Show high levels of personal presentation.
  • Display initiative and a flexible approach.
  • Keep your technical knowledge up to date.
  • Enjoy solving problems, providing assistance and giving 'peace of mind' to our members and customers.

If successful, you will be offered a contract for up to 3 years. You have the option to lease a vehicle from RACQ for up to 6 months initially upon commencement with a view to you purchasing your own vehicle (must be a Ute or Van white in colour, commercially registered and less than 5 years old at the time of putting it on the road).

We will provide training, certification and software to prepare inspection reports.
