The Opportunity
Gukwonderuk Indigenous Health Workforces Centre is Monash University's dedicated centre for advancing Indigenous health equity through culturally informed education, community engagement, and research. Named after a respected medicinal Gukwonderuk (Wotjobaluk) the Centre's vision is to create healthcare workforces that can meet the health and wellbeing the needs of Indigenous peoples.
Its initiatives include delivering the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework, supporting Indigenous students, and leading programs like Hands on Health to inspire the next generation of Indigenous healthcare leaders.
Monash University's Gukwonderuk Indigenous Health Workforces Centre is seeking a passionate Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer educator and Indigenous ally to lead transformative curriculum design and champion culturally informed teaching across the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to systemic change in Indigenous health equity through education. Whether you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or bring a sustained commitment to critical Indigenous allyship, your leadership will help shape the future of healthcare delivery for Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and delivering innovative curriculum aligned with accreditation and professional standards
- Building educator capacity in critical allyship and consciousness building
- Leading educational scholarship and contributing to curriculum review and design
- Mentoring academic colleagues and contributing to cross-faculty teaching initiatives
- Publishing educational research and presenting at national conferences
