About the Opportunity

OnTalent is delighted to be partnering with CS Energy in the recruitment of their newly created Head of Sustainability role. This is a career-defining opportunity for a strategic and innovative leader to drive an ESG agenda that goes well beyond compliance, positioning CS Energy as a market leader in sustainability.

Reporting to the Chief Energy Transition Officer, this role is not only responsible for shaping CS Energy's ESG strategy but also for influencing decisions on the organisation's future asset portfolio. With one direct report, the successful candidate will be a highly capable influencer, educator, and collaborator, raising the bar across the business and embedding sustainability into its core decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and implementation of CS Energy's sustainability strategy, setting a new benchmark for ESG performance.

•Partner with the Energy Transition team to inform future asset portfolio decisions and transition planning.

•Build organisational capability and inspire stakeholders at every level to embrace sustainability outcomes.

•Ensure compliance with evolving sustainability reporting requirements (e.g. AASB S2, GRI, TCFD, SASB, ISSB).

•Promote CS Energy's ESG achievements to external stakeholders, enhancing the organisation's brand and reputation.

•Identify, assess and manage ESG risks and opportunities while driving innovation in areas such as carbon reduction, biodiversity, energy efficiency and social impact.   

About You

The successful candidate will be a curious and strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and brings a reputation for influence, innovation and leadership. You will bring:


•Demonstrated experience in sustainability and ESG leadership, ideally with exposure to ASX-level reporting.

•Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to educate and inspire.

•Experience embedding ESG practices within high-risk or heavy industry environments.

•Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and ratings such as ISC and Green Star.

•Proven leadership capability, with the ability to leverage organisational support to deliver results.
