Education Assistant – Literacy support

Holy Rosary School is a two-stream co-educational institution catering to boys and girls from Three-Year-Old Kindy to Year Six. Our student-centered approach is based on our strong Catholic community, evidence-based teaching and engaging learning. We are specifically seeking Education Assistants with experience with the Science of Reading, including programs such as: Dibels, MiniLit, MacqLit or approved Dyslexia SPELD programs.

Selection Criteria:

  • Commitment to Catholic Ethos: Ability to support and embody the Catholic ethos in all duties.
  • Science of Reading training and experience: including programs such as: Dibels, MiniLit, MacqLit or  approved Dyslexia SPELD programs.  Bond blocks experience is also considered favourable.
  • Student Relationships: Ability to develop positive and trusting relationships with students, supporting their engagement, wellbeing, and regulation.
  • Team Collaboration: Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team with other staff members.
  • Interpersonal and Organisational Skills: Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Community Building: Enthusiasm for building community within a Catholic school, in collaboration with staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications required:

Certificate IV Teacher Assistant (or equivalent).

Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain this).

Senior First Aid (desirable).Formal training in Dibels, MiniLit/MacqLit, Ufly (desirable)
