Job Description:

As a Disability Support Worker at MDSS, you will play a key role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. You will be responsible for:

Providing day-to-day care for participants, including:

  • Available for shift work - including sleepovers, weekends early mornings and evenings
  • Personal care whilst ensuring privacy and personal choices are upheld
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks and hygiene
  • Support individuals in accessing the community and participating in social and recreational activities
  • Monitor and document individual progress and behaviour
  • Administering medication

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Cert III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent qualification - or working towards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour
  • Ability to work overnight and work weekends when rostered
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Current Drivers License
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance

You must be available for a variety of shift times including sleep over shifts.
