Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our financial services department is seeking an Assistant Accountant - Revenue.

Purpose:

Ensure transactional confidence in Council's accounting records and systems. Assist the Financial Accountant and Coordinator Revenue to ensure timely and accurate accounting records and financial systems are in place so that Council may meet its statutory obligations.

About the role:

Responsible for Council's complex bank reconciliation process.

Maintain and reconcile Councils bonds & deposits register, S7.12 register and account for and reconcile all revenue sources.

Assist and support Council's banking, cash management, investment and grant activities.

About you:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting at diploma or degree level, or extensive equivalent experience.

An ability to work in a team environment, often under tight time constraints, to achieve business unit and organisational goals.

Proven research and problem-solving skills with a sound ability to investigate anomalies, resolve issues and make recommendations for process improvement.
