Role Description

This is a contract role for a Council Rates Officer within a Local Government context. Based in Parramatta, NSW, the position operates on a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be performed from home. Key responsibilities include managing rates administration, liaising with stakeholders, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with council and legislative requirements. The role requires maintaining data accuracy and providing high-quality support to the finance and rates teams.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in rates administration, data reconciliation, and account management
  • Strong skills in customer liaison and stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in financial systems, database updates, and reporting
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of Local Government legislation and compliance standards
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Finance, or related fields (preferred)
  • Experience in similar roles within Local Government or public administration is a plus
