CETEC is seeking a passionate Hazardous Materials Consultant with hands-on experience in sampling, reporting, and project delivery to join our Brisbane team.

Join a national leader in technical risk management and contribute to landmark projects that shape Australia's built environment. This is a rare opportunity to apply your scientific expertise in a role that blends fieldwork, consulting, and sustainability.

This role suits early-career professionals (1–3 years' experience) with HazMat exposure, or recent science graduates with strong fieldwork and reporting skills.

Your responsibilities:

  • Fieldwork & Sampling:
    Conduct field investigations, sampling, and analysis of hazardous materials in built environments
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    Prepare technical reports, interpret data, and support senior consultants in delivering client-ready analysis.
  • Project Delivery:
    Support project delivery through technical reporting, client liaison, and solution implementation
  • Client Collaboration:
    Engage with clients and stakeholders on-site
  • Skill Development:
    Receive training in NABERS, WELL, GreenStar, and occupational hygiene frameworks

You will be someone who has:

  • Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Experience with hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos, lead, PCBs) or environmental investigations
  • Strong analytical and proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of the context of their observations, and integration with the clients' requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical reporting.
  • Valid Australian driver's license
