The Role

As the Assistant Accountant you will support a busy Finance Manager with daily operations, accounts payable/receivable, audits and trust accounting.  Duties include:

  • Receipting, recording, and reconciling transactions in general trust accounts.
  • Manage security deposit accounts.
  • Enter, update, and maintain financial information in property management systems, including lease charges, rent adjustments, and other financial data.
  • Monitor accounts receivable & payable and processing payment runs.
  • Assist with new lease setups, renewals, assignments, and rental reviews.
  • Coordinate the preparation of end-of-financial-year outgoings audits, ensuring accuracy of expense allocations and compliance with lease terms.
  • Liaise with external auditors to provide documentation, reconciliations, and timely responses to queries.
  • Prepare tenant statements and invoices for outgoings recoveries and adjustments in line with audit results.
  • Communicate with tenants regarding audit outcomes and adjustments, providing supporting documentation when required.

The CriteriaYou have a relevant degree, or may be working towards a professional accounting qualification. Proficiency in MYOB is highly regarded, or otherwise the ability to learn new systems quickly. You possess a high attention to detail and accuracy and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
