The Opportunity:

Vitrinite is currently seeking an experienced General Manager of Infrastructure to lead the planning and delivery of key infrastructure projects across our operations, including handling and processing plants, and rail infrastructure.

The role will be based at our Gold Coast – Currumbin office with travel to our Vulcan Mine Complex, central Queensland, as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of coal infrastructure development, delivering critical projects safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

As the General Manager of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating and managing the implementation of major projects required by Vulcan Mine Management, Vitrinite Pty Ltd, and affiliated companies – including concept, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of handling and processing plants, and rail infrastructure.
• Ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of coal preparation and handling projects.
• Creating, managing, and monitoring project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
• Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and plans, tracking progress and managing risks.
• Providing regular updates to corporate management on financial status and project progress.
• Engaging and managing specialist contractors and consultants, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for the construction and commissioning of coal preparation and handling equipment and infrastructure – in compliance with statutory and company standards.

About the Candidate:

You will bring proven experience in delivering large-scale industrial or mining infrastructure projects, preferably within the coal sector. Your strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills will be key to your success in this role.

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive background in rail systems, CHPP operations, and major infrastructure developments.
• 7+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in the resources industry.
• Strong commercial and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to adapt and work within short timeframes to complete set tasks improvement.
