About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CCTV / Security Technician to deliver end-to-end installations of IP-based CCTV systems, including structured cabling, camera mounting and alignment, NVR setup, point-to-point radio links, rack builds and network switch installations.

You will interact directly with our customers and frequently work independently on-site. This role requires strong presentation, clear communication, and the confidence to work efficiently without supervision.

We are looking for a technician with solid cabling and installation skills, ideally with experience installing and commissioning IP CCTV systems, NVRs, PoE switching, and related network infrastructure. Any additional experience in Wi-Fi or broader IP networking will be highly regarded.

The role involves regular travel across NSW, QLD and VIC, with a strong focus on regional areas. While our Head Office is located in Sydney CBD, and we have offices in QLD and VIC, most of your working time will be spent on customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • On-site installation and maintenance of IP-based CCTV systems, including all required cabling, cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and related network components
  • Mounting, aligning, configuring and commissioning CCTV cameras and recording equipment
  • Testing, verification and troubleshooting of installed systems
  • Documentation of installation details, device locations, and network configuration

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience installing or maintaining IP-based CCTV or security systems
  • Strong proficiency with CAT6 structured cabling (running cable, securing, terminating and testing)
  • Ability to read and follow installation designs, camera layouts and network diagrams, and adapt them to onsite conditions
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly with IP cameras, NVRs and PoE networking
  • Current driver's licence

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge or experience with Ubiquiti Point to Point networking (AirOS)
  • IP Networking and Wi-Fi experience
  • Experience with phone cabling (MDF/IDF and internal building cabling)
  • Experience with Fibre Optic cabling, including patching, splicing, troubleshooting
  • Open Cabling Licence, Working at Heights, EWP and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Security Equipment Installer licence (2C in NSW or equivalent in other states) is highly regarded

Remuneration

The salary range indicated is determined by experience, qualifications and track record.
