About the role
At the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport, we bring vibrancy to NSW by growing our creative industries and workforces, driving strong visitor and night-time economies, ensuring a responsible hospitality sector, and putting arts, culture and sport at the heart of our communities.
We are now seeking a dynamic and highly organised Executive Officer to support the Deputy Secretary, 24-Hour, Screen and Sound and Commissioner of the 24-Hour Economy.
This isn't just an executive support role; it's a pivotal opportunity to help deliver strategic projects and guarantee the seamless operation of a high-profile office, delivering expert advice across a broad spectrum of policy, engagement, operational matters and issues management. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead and coordinate the successful delivery of strategic and operational projects across the 24-Hour, Screen and Sound Division and broader Department

Provide high-level advice and executive support to the Deputy Secretary and senior leadership team

Manage the executive office budget and proactively monitor risks
-
Cultivate robust relationships and effectively liaise with senior executives, ministerial offices, and key stakeholders
-
Prepare complex reports, briefs and submissions, including Cabinet and Ministerial documentation
-
Anticipate and identify emerging issues, providing proactive solutions.
About You
You are a strategic thinker, a natural relationship builder and a highly skilled communicator who excels under pressure. You've honed your abilities in demanding environments and are ready to apply them to shape the future of NSW.
The ideal candidate will have:

Demonstrated experience supporting or advising senior executives within government or large, complex organisations

A deep and proven understanding of public sector operations and governance
-
Exceptional project management, communication and negotiation skills that deliver results
-
Solid experience managing resources and successfully navigating intricate policy or operational challenges
-
A collaborative, proactive and resilient approach, underpinned by a strong ethical foundation
-
Government experience operating in global environments is highly desirable.
