ABOUT THE ROLE:
Are you passionate about supporting local businesses and driving regional economic growth?
Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Business Development Officer to help deliver real outcomes for our diverse and evolving economy.
In this dynamic role, you'll lead key initiatives under Council's Economic Development Framework, working closely with businesses, industry bodies, and government stakeholders. From delivering flagship events like the Bass Coast Business Awards to creating new opportunities to support local business and attract investment, you'll help position Bass Coast as a thriving place to do business.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging with local businesses through regular outreach
- Supporting business retention, growth and diversification
- Coordinating a business development and training program, including workshops, mentoring, and networking events
- Leading key economic development projects
- Supporting local workforce development initiatives
- Coordinating business research activities including business surveys and vacancy mapping
- Sharing relevant business content across digital channels
- Supporting the delivery of Council's Economic Development Framework
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
You will hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Economic Development or a related field and/or equivalent experience in an economic development role. You will have strong inter-personal skills and be able to build strong relationships with businesses, stakeholders and partners.
