At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics - our core specialisation is partnering with organisations that are experiencing change. This client is a great example of that, a global logistics leader proactively transforming its core systems and processes to build a platform for future efficiency and growth.
As a leading force in the logistics sector with a rich history, our client's operations span across multiple sites across Australia and internationally. Their environment is a fast-paced blend of large-scale project execution and operational transformation. They thrive on the complexity of integrating new systems and solving the challenges that come with enterprise-wide change. This is an environment where individuals form part of a professional, high-performance project culture, dedicated to building new and better ways to run business-critical functions.
About the Opportunity:This is a critical, hands-on SME role within a major business transformation program, created to ensure the functional integrity of a new enterprise-wide payroll solution. Your challenge will be to bring deep subject matter expertise and process discipline to the project. You will take complete ownership of the functional design validation and parallel testing phases, and be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the solution ahead of a successful go-live. This role requires an established, hands-on professional who can be relied upon to deliver a timely and accurate outcome while proactively navigating the complexities of a major system transition.
What You Will Do:Reporting to the Project Director and Senior Payroll Manager, you will be the bedrock of the project's functional payroll integrity. Your role is designed to be a positive agent of change, blending deep technical payroll knowledge with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to testing and validation.
- Driving the functional validation of the new payroll solution design against complex business requirements and Australian legislation.
- Taking complete ownership of the end-to-end parallel testing process, from strategy and planning through to execution and meticulous variance analysis.
- Championing the integrity of all payroll calculations by performing deep-dive analysis into discrepancies to identify and resolve root causes.
- Acting as the key functional advisor for all payroll-related queries from project teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Ensuring the new solution is fully compliant with all relevant modern awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
- Fostering strong collaborative partnerships with the Test Lead, HR, Finance, and Technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll challenges.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned payroll professional with a strong foundation in complex payroll environments and a proven track record of navigating major system implementations. We are looking for someone with a proactive, analytical mindset who is passionate about ensuring accuracy and thrives in a dynamic project environment, viewing complexity as an opportunity for impact. This individual takes ownership to deliver outstanding results and possesses exceptional communication skills to build collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders. While hands-on experience in a logistics or similar large-scale, multi-site environment is advantageous, your core expertise in Australian payroll is what truly matters.
Why Join Us?This is a career-defining opportunity for a payroll professional who is driven to make a tangible impact on a business-critical transformation. This role is for the SME who is ready to move beyond business-as-usual and become a key driver of change within a landmark project. You will be at the heart of the implementation, establishing the robust functional foundations that will directly fuel its future success, and will be empowered with the autonomy to take ownership and create a legacy of a best-in-class payroll solution.
Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply — we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
