Your New Role

As the Senior Manager, Member Research, you will play a pivotal role in driving Member & Market insights and research across the Member Domain. Reporting to the Principal, Member Strategy & Insights, you will lead a small team responsible for understanding member preferences and behaviours, tracking market trends, and embedding research into all activity.

You'll work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure member needs are understood and addressed, using robust market research programs and segmentation strategies. Your leadership will foster a high-performing, diverse, and engaged team, driving innovation and continuous improvement. This is a senior role with the opportunity to make a significant impact on member outcomes and the Fund's strategic ambitions, and it would ideally suit someone with a background in an organisation with a large customer / membership base, or with strong agency experience.

What You'll Need
  • Significant and in-depth, professional experience in market research or related fields, straddling brand, innovation, creative and CX, including experience managing a Research Team
  • Proven track record in designing and executing robust market research quantitative and qualitative programs, ideally in service industries (e.g., telco, utilities, financial services)
  • Experience in utilising tools such as Q and Qualtrics (or similar),
  • A desire and ability to manage and execute projects yourself
  • Deep working knowledge of member/customer segmentations.
  • An innovative thinker, with experience of program optimisation and an ability to demonstrate ROI of research programs
  • A Team Player that can establish and evolve relationships internally and with external partners
  • Someone that has OR is wanting to promote the great work beyond AustralianSuper walls, inspiring fellow research practitioners
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and dispersed teams to achieve objectives.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and insights to senior management and large audiences.
  • Advanced analytical and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience managing team budgets, workforce planning, and cost-efficiency.
  • Ability to work with and incorporate multiple data sources.
  • Experience working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business or related field (e.g., Bachelor of Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or Economics).
