Job description:
Join our dynamic research team at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) as a Part Time Research Nurse on the PRESENT Trial — a multi-centre clinical study exploring whether access to pasteurised donor human milk (PDHM) can improve outcomes for term babies born to women with diabetes.
You'll play a vital role in recruiting and supporting participants at antenatal clinics, obtaining informed consent, and working closely with clinical teams to randomise eligible infants and facilitate the use of PDHM. You'll manage the ordering and tracking of PDHM, provide education to hospital staff, and collect clinical data from medical records. The role is primarily based at the Royal Women's Hospital (Parkville), with some work at Frances Perry House.
Your responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and consenting participants
- Supporting clinical teams with infant randomisation and PDHM provision
- Managing PDHM supply and inventory
- Collecting and managing clinical data
- Educating staff and contributing to ethics and research processes
What we need from you:
- Division 1 Nursing Registration with AHPRA
- Experience in clinical trials, perinatal care or lactation support (desirable)
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Available to work 0.6 FTE, including Thursdays
