As a Caseworker (Domestic and Family Violence), you will:
- Deliver best practice statutory casework services to young people and contribute to the development of safety plans using sound assessment and intervention skills to deliver integrated and culturally appropriate services, including engaging with families, community organisations and other key stakeholders, in accordance with the legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
- Design, implement and review youth justice responses to domestic and family violence and strengthen protocols, tools and referral pathways with relevant agencies to ensure individuals experiencing domestic and family violence can easily access appropriate support and assistance.
- Monitor and evaluate the Youth Justice Role within the Domestic and Family Violence Integrated Response.
- Participate in the High-Risk Team meetings with key stakeholders and promote use of the domestic and family violence common assessment tool to refer young people to the High-Risk Team and commit to actions, prioritise matters and arrange for allocation of resources to ensure a rapid response to high-risk cases as well as an increase of victim survivor safety and perpetrator accountability.
- Integrate the Domestic and Family Violence lens into Youth Justice by providing case consultation, guidance, and advice to Caseworkers and disseminating information relating to key Domestic and Family Violence practice, legislation, and policies. Establish partnerships and consult with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers in a number of local areas, to achieve quality safety outcomes.
- Undertake a range of information management and reporting tasks including data entry, maintenance of case records, preparation of performance and trend reports and ensure all confidential information shared with partner agencies is in accordance with established protocols and legislation.
- Actively participate in training and professional development activities to develop, maintain and enhance knowledge and competencies to ensure that service delivery is based on contemporary, evidence based, best practice principles and is consistent with current practice trends and departmental objectives. Share knowledge with the youth justice team to raise awareness of domestic and family violence as it relates to youth justice clients and integrate a domestic and family violence framework for practice.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the good governance and objectives of the directorate and department.
