Technical Product Manager

Instant is a technology company on a mission to power the world's most innovative brands, driving their revenue and retention on autopilot. We are in an exciting hyper-growth phase, expanding the business by over $1M in new revenue every month, have 4 products in market, entering and hiring in new global regions, raised $30M+ by top VC's, and we want you to be a critical part of scaling this velocity even further
Instant is seeking a Technical Product Manager to take end-to-end ownership of both our core platform infrastructure and our self-serve growth engine. This is a highly technical role that uniquely combines deep technical ownership with product-led growth strategy.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for ensuring that our platform is scalable, reliable, and performant as we continue to grow at pace, while also designing and optimising the self-serve onboarding journey that powers our next phase of growth. Our ambition is simple: any brand, anywhere in the world, should be able to unlock the full value of Instant without needing to talk to us. Achieving that requires rock-solid technical foundations and a seamless user experience. We believe self-serve revenue will be our biggest growth channel in the next 6 months, and you'll play a pivotal role in making that happen.
This is not a "requirements hand-off" role. You'll work side by side with engineers, dive deep into systems and APIs, and translate infrastructure requirements into a roadmap that powers both technical excellence and business growth. This is a rare opportunity for a technical product leader who thrives in high-growth startup environments and wants end-to-end ownership across both infrastructure and customer-facing growth initiatives.
As a Technical Product Manager, you will:
- Lead technical product development for our platform, covering infrastructure scaling, performance optimisation, data reliability, and system resilience.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to scope, prioritise, and execute on complex infrastructure initiatives (e.g., data reliability and improving observability).
- Ensure technical readiness for growth: our systems, services, and architecture can support rapid increases in usage, new geographies, and enterprise-level demands.
- Own and optimise the top-of-funnel acquisition journey, driving improvements in conversion and time-to-value for new customers.
- Research, strategise, and deliver new opportunities to improve our self-serve experience, ensuring merchants have an intuitive and frictionless path to success.
- Operate within a small, fast-moving squad (engineers + designer), setting a high bar for quality while balancing innovation with the demands of enterprise-grade stability.
About you:
- Instant speed is next level You'll be expected to execute quickly, produce quality work fast, communicate effectively and iterate/pivot as necessary.
- You have a strong technical background (e.g. software engineering, DevOps, systems, or data) and have successfully worn both technical and product hats.
- You have hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern infrastructure practices (CI/CD, observability, security).
- You have experience working directly with engineers — you can read technical designs, ask the right questions, and make informed tradeoffs.
- You're a self-thinker with a strategic mindset, understanding areas of opportunity.
- You execute flawlessly (directly & via others) and take your projects across the finish line.
- You can manage projects end-to-end with a practical, results-driven approach
