Your new role:

As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital Liaison Officer, you'll play a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients across Metro South Health facilities. In this role you will:

  • Support patients and families through their hospital journey and follow-up care
  • Provide culturally appropriate advocacy and communication between patients and care teams
  • Strengthen connections between health services and community networks
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and service improvement initiatives

This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by a candidate indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. Candidates not meeting this criteria will not be considered.

  • Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history, and health issues
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse teams

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
