Inflatable Packers International is a fast-developing engineering and manufacturing company in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Geothermal, and Water well industry based in Tonkin Industrial Park, Bayswater.

We are recruiting an R&D manager for a full-time permanent position to lead the R&D function within IPI.

The R&D manager will lead the development of new mechanical downhole products, plan and supervise V&V programs for both new and existing products, support client enquiries and develop modelling systems.

The role will also involve managing competing priorities, product/process refinement, system/procedure and productivity improvement initiatives whilst complying with quality management and document control systems.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design (mechanical engineering).
  • At least 2 years experience leading a team.
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of downhole tools (Oil & Gas, Mining, Water or Geotechnical).
  • Track record of developing and delivering downhole tools to market.
  • A positive attitude to problem solving.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience with operations and field deployment would be a strong advantage.
  • A working knowledge of quality management and /or document control systems would be an advantage.
