Faulkner Farming is seeking a motivated Senior Farm Hand/ Mechanic to join our team at The Watermark; a large-scale farming operation located in the NW Slopes/Liverpool Plains region of New South Wales.

Reporting to the Aggregation Manager, this hands-on role involves a mix of mechanical maintenance and general farm operations, including machinery servicing and repairs, crop seeding and spraying, harvesting, grain storage/handling, fencing and day-to-day property upkeep. Ideally, you will bring farm machinery experience, sound mechanical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting cropping operations across sowing, spraying, harvesting, and land management.
  • Performing scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Operating a variety of farm machinery and vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • General property maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate records for farm operations, machinery use, and workshop activities.
  • Promoting innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in farm and workshop processes.
  • Championing a strong safety culture by following all WHS, environmental, and compliance requirements.

Skills and Experience:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Experience in farm operations, including cropping, machinery operation, grain storage/handling and general farm maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to service, maintain, and repair machinery and vehicles.
  • Sound record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • A current driver's licence (essential). Trade qualifications in mechanics or agriculture are desirable but not essential.
  • Advantageous qualifications/experience include:

Heavy Vehicle (HR) Truck Licence

ChemCert accreditation

First Aid certificate

Confined Space and/or Working at Heights certifications

Experience using AgWorld and AgriWebb platforms

About the Property:

The Watermark Aggregation is a 6,000 Ha (~4,400Ha cropping) property located near to Curlewis, 30km south of Gunnedah, 70km northwest of Quirindi, and 80km west of Tamworth. It is a diversified enterprise focusing on mixed cropping and grazing.
