About the Role
Due to our continued expansion and evolving business needs, we require a Procurement Officer to play a crucial role in overseeing and executing the procurement strategy for our residential construction projects across Victoria and Queensland. Reporting directly to the National Procurement Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to manage the end-to-end procurement function for construction materials and labor on a national scale, working across a variety of categories to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Procurement Management: Leading the procurement process from benchmarking and tendering to contract award and analysis across multiple categories.
- National Procurement Strategy Implementation: Developing and implementing procurement strategies for construction materials and labor, managing your allocated portfolio across the country.
- Driving Cost Efficiency: Working to achieve "total cost of ownership" outcomes in alignment with the procurement team's commercial objectives—focusing on cash creation, value creation, and effective risk management.
- Category Plan Management: Creating and maintaining Category Plans for key supplier categories nationally, ensuring all procurement activities are streamlined and optimized.
- Contract Negotiations: Negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors. Overseeing the execution of procurement agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Providing relevant departments with up-to-date information regarding pricing, product changes, and supplier allocation shifts.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Measuring supplier performance across delivery, quality, capacity, and cost. Proactively conducting periodic reviews of supplier pricing, forecasting movements, and refining strategies.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, building codes, safety standards, and internal policies. Identifying and mitigating risks related to supplier performance and delivery delays.
- Reporting & Analytics: Preparing regular procurement reports, highlighting KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, procurement timelines, and risk management.
- Software Utilisation: Familiarity with DataBuild software is desirable to assist with your procurement activities.
Non-Negotiables:
- Travel: Monthly travel to Queensland is required.
- Databuild: desirable to assist with daily tasks.
- Industry Experience: A solid understanding of residential construction (previous experience essential).
- Office-Based Role: This role is office-based 4 days a week, with travel on the fifth day as required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to make a meaningful impact on a growing business within the residential construction sector. If you're a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail, we encourage you to apply
