About the Role
In this Finance Officer role, you will be primarily responsible for processing the business' day-to-day accounts receivable functions, as well as supporting the Finance Team with month-end transactional processing and internal reporting. Closely supporting the Senior Finance Officer, you will also assist the extended Finance Team by managing debtors, processing daily bank reconciliations and managing petty cash.

Your other key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Remaining up to date with aged care legislation, regulations and reforms.
  • Maintaining the accounting software, setting up new residents & other debtors in the system, as well as processing transactions.
  • Developing strong professional relationships with colleagues, residents and other key stakeholders.
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations, including banking and receipting.
  • Following up payments, liaising with debtors & responding to resident queries as required.
  • Managing petty cash and resident trust accounts, ensuring accurate records.

About you
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of the aged care environment, legislation & regulations, and demonstrate experience working within a similar role, including financial administration, accounts receivable and reconciling large volumes of data. Ideally, you will have experience utilising the Microsoft Office suite of programs (particularly Excel) & Accounting software. Furthermore, you will have a keen eye for detail and strong organisation skills, to be able to accurately deliver work in a timely manner. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills & an ability to build positive relationships with others.

The successful candidate will also possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or bookkeeping (desirable)
  • A Department of Human Services clearance for Vulnerable people (essential)
