At Arup, a Senior Wind Engineer plays a key role in delivering technical expertise and strategic guidance across wind energy projects, both onshore and offshore. This role involves leading wind resource assessments, energy yield analyses, and site feasibility studies, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support project development, design, and delivery.

The Opportunity

• Lead wind resource assessments using advanced modelling tools and data analysis to support project feasibility and design.
• Deliver energy yield predictions and performance evaluations for onshore and offshore wind projects.
• Provide technical input into planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and grid connection studies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, planning, and commercial functions to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to present findings, advise on project risks, and support strategic decision-making.

Is this role right for you?

• Degree qualified in engineering, renewable energy, or a related discipline, with a strong focus on wind energy systems.
• Proven experience in wind resource assessment and energy yield analysis, ideally using industry standard tools such as WindFarmer. OpenWind or WasP.
• Strong understanding of wind farm design principles, including layout optimisation, environmental constraints, and grid integration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team development and project delivery excellent.
