About the role

Georgiana Molloy Anglican School is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Department Science | Teacher to join our dynamic team. As the Head of Department Science, you will lead and inspire our Secondary Science Department, playing a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students. This is a full-time position based in Busselton, Western Australia.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide inspirational leadership and management of the Science Department, including curriculum planning, resource development, and staff coordination
  • Teach a range of Science subjects at the secondary level, fostering students' curiosity and critical thinking skills
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and assessment methods
  • Monitor student progress and achievement, and provide targeted support and guidance to ensure their success
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through participation in extracurricular activities and school events
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in Science education

What we're looking for

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
  • Extensive experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a department and mentor teaching staff
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to inspiring students to explore and understand the natural world
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching and learning strategies
