About You
You are a highly skilled and certified network professional with deep expertise in designing and deploying complex network architectures. With a strong foundation in Cisco technologies (CCNP or CCIE), you thrive in environments that demand precision, security, and innovation. You bring a collaborative mindset, working seamlessly with vendors, systems engineers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver robust, multi-domain network solutions that meet stringent Defence standards.

Your experience spans high-security environments, ideally within Defence or Defence Industry, and you're confident navigating compliance frameworks such as the ISM and Defence certification requirements. You're proactive in contributing to documentation, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring solutions are not only technically sound but also aligned with customer and contractual expectations.

You're passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the integration of network systems across geographically diverse locations. With a strong understanding of firewall deployment, Cisco VXLAN, and ACI, you're ready to lead the design and implementation of mission-critical infrastructure for Australia's Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System.

About The Role
As a Senior Network Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the design, integration, and implementation of secure network infrastructure for the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System. This position is responsible for delivering a resilient, multi-domain network architecture that supports mission-critical communications across geographically dispersed Defence sites.

You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Cyber Security experts, and external vendors to ensure the network design meets stringent security, performance, and accreditation requirements. Your expertise will guide the development of technical procedures, support system integration, and contribute to documentation and compliance efforts.

This role demands a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the network infrastructure aligns with Defence standards and supports the broader mission system effectively.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the requirements and design for the network architecture of the mission system element for a defence system.
  • Delivery of a robust network architecture, with support from our Cyber Security partners and vendors to provide the design for a multiple security domain network that integrates with other defence networks across a regionally diverse set of locations.
  • Work with Systems Engineers to contribute to all Design and Process documentation.
  • Support the Security Accreditation of the system providing SME advice regarding the implementation of the network controls.

To be successful you will bring:

Essential

  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Security Clearance.
  • Network design and Deployment experience within complex switch and routing environments.
  • CCNP or CCIE.

Desirable

  • Firewall design and deployment.
  • Working experience with Cisco VXLAN and ACI
  • A background in either Defence/ Defence Industry
