Rate: $110 - $130 per hour inclusive of super

Length: 9 months, plus 2 x 1 year extensions 

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Network Solution Architect to join our Federal government client on a critical infrastructure initiative. This is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale network solutions within a secure environment. 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Active NV1 security clearance (essential - role cannot proceed without this)
  • 10+ years' experience in Network Solution Architecture
  • SFIA Level 5 capability in Solution Architecture (ARCH)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver enterprise-grade network solutions integrating on-premises and cloud infrastructure
  • Develop network architecture strategies aligned with organisational requirements and security frameworks
  • Lead network migration planning and lifecycle management activities
  • Provide expert guidance on network security, automation, and orchestration
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on network infrastructure

Key Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of network technologies: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks
  • Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP)
  • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools
  • Proficiency in network analytics and monitoring tools
  • Cloud technologies expertise: virtualisation, containerisation, cloud security
  • Network security: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems
  • Familiarity with broader virtualisation technologies (desirable)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) highly regarded

1 and One Consulting partners with government to deliver meaningful, high-impact projects. We work across multiple portfolios, and successful candidates will likely have the opportunity to transition onto other projects after this engagement.
