We are seeking an experienced and reliable Disability & Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangement in South Ripley, QLD.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-on-one support to a client in both their home and family setting.

About the Role:

In line with the client's behaviour support needs and sensory sensitivities, only non-smoking staff can be rostered to this position.

You will be working with a client who has a mental health diagnosis, epilepsy, and behaviours of concern. A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and restrictive practices is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with cooking, cleaning, and general wellbeing
  • Providing overnight (sleepover) support and assisting with daily routines
  • Promoting safety, structure, and independence
  • Engaging the client in personal interests such as Marvel, anime, and computer gaming

Shifts on a two week rotating roster

Week 1

Thursday plus sleepover until 6am

Saturday plus sleepover finish 6am

Week 2

Thursday plus sleepover 6am finish

Saturday pls sleepover 6am finish

Pay Rates (SCHADS Award – Level E3.1 Casual):

  • Base hourly rate: $35.15
  • Afternoon shift (ends between 8pm–midnight): $38.67
  • Active night shift (starts before 6am or ends after midnight): $39.37
  • Saturday: $49.21
  • Sunday: $63.27
  • Public Holiday: $77.33
  • Sleepover allowance: As per SCHADS Award (passive overnight)

About You:

  • Minimum 12 months of experience in mental health or disability support
  • Confident in implementing PBSPs, managing restrictive practices, and responding to epilepsy
  • Calm, professional, and trauma-informed
  • Holds current First Aid & CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Blue Card
  • Has completed the NDIS Quality, Safety and You module
