About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Psychologist to provide outreach services to local students impacted by trauma at various schools to improve their access, participation and educational outcomes. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.
- Level 6 SCHCADS Award.
- Salary range: $110,110, $114,984 + Superannuation.
- Full time, Government funded position until 31 January 2026 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to children, in both individual and group settings, to enhance functional skills.
- Providing specialised developmental and trauma-informed consultancy to education team members.
- Facilitating and strengthening supportive relationships between children and the key adults in their educational setting.
- Collaboratively identify barriers, and create plans to overcomes these, while developing student and staff skills to improve students access, participation and achievement in their educational environment.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (psychology).
- Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
- Experience working with children, young people and their families.
- Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
- Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
- Knowledge of current trauma treatment trends and child protection legislation and policy reforms.
- A high level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different. backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver's licence.
- Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
