About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Psychologist or Social Worker to work closely with children, young people and their families who have experienced, or are at risk of harm. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.

  • Level 6 SCHCADS Award.
  • Salary range: $110,110 - $114,984 + Superannuation.
  • Full-time, Government funded position until 30 June 2027 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding therapeutic services to children, young people and their families in the Therapy and Education Services.
  • Identify and work toward client goals, and achieve successful case outcomes for clients.
  • Regularly attend and participate in supervision, case reviews and other case discussions as required.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local community and government agencies.
  • Encouraging and strengthening supportive relationships with adult caregivers.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology or Social Work).
  • Provisional memberships are desirable.
  • At least two years' experience working with children, young people and their families or at least two years' experience working in similar roles.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
  • Knowledge of current trauma treatment trends and child protection legislation and policy reforms.
  • A high level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
