We're growing and seeking great people with genuine passion and care to join us as a Disability Support Worker within our Your Supports (1:1) and Getaways Services at The Bridge with immediate work available, following onboarding procedures.
About You:
You'll be supporting participants through our Your Supports and Getaways Teams, delivering personalised assistance in a variety of settings. This could include in-home support with daily routines, transport-focused shifts, or getting out into the community for activities like gym sessions, park visits, shopping trips and events. Our Getaways Team also facilitates holidays, weekends away and day activities, creating fun, social experiences and providing respite.
This role is ideal if you value flexibility — with shifts available weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and overnight. Support needs vary from once-off assistance to regular ongoing support, offering you the opportunity to work in the way that best suits your lifestyle. We're particularly interested in applicants experienced in personal care, manual handling, transfers, travel training, and supporting participants with behaviours of concern, as well as those who can commit to early morning shifts.
Role Responsibilities:
• Support clients' community, social, and work goals using positive behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with Allied Health and key stakeholders.
• Provide personal care and support with daily living needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report concerns or incidents promptly.
• Review and update client plans, risk assessments, and follow rostered duties aligned with NDIS requirements.
Essential Selection Criteria:
• Certificate IV in Disability or relevant transferable qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proven ability to support participant wellbeing, independence, and goal achievement.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing workplace needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and solid safety awareness.
• Able to remain calm under pressure and seek support appropriately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with MS Office, Client Management Systems, and related software.
• Current and valid Victorian driver's licence.
• Comprehensive Car Insurance.
• Working With Children Check (desirable).
Additional Requirements:
• Two satisfactory reference checks
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Legal right to work in Australia
