Role Overview

The Junior Engineer/Support Technician will play a key role in the installation, commissioning, testing, support and maintenance of EV charging systems. This position requires strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to step into different roles as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities


• Commission, test, and configure EV charging equipment.


• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on EV chargers and related infrastructure.


• Support project engineers and subcontractor with technical input during installation and handover phases.


• Assist with documentation, reporting, and compliance checks.


• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.


• Provide technical support and training to customers as required.


• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across the business.


• Flexibly assist in other roles within the company when needed (e.g., logistics, site prep, customer support).

Skills & Experience


• Background in electrical, electronic, or mechatronic engineering (trade qualification or degree desirable).


• Hands-on experience with commissioning, testing, or maintaining electrical systems.


• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.


• Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.


• Strong teamwork and communication skills.


• Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to "wear many hats" in a growing company.

Desirable


• Previous experience with EV charging systems or renewable energy technologies.


• Familiarity with networking/communications protocols (OCPP, Modbus, TCP/IP).
