Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Procurement, you will:

  • Work in a dynamic environment to build a high level of trust through open and transparent relationships

  • Identify, assess and implement opportunities to standardise and find new simplified but effective ways of working and process improvements

  • Co-ordinate information capture and flow including influencing communications to a wide-ranging audience

  • Co-ordinate and prep to ensure effective leadership interactions including driving initiatives and outcomes within the cohorts

  • Act as a centralised reference point and key interface in relation to the regional and global category teams. These teams deliver end to end procurement services to Rio Tinto Iron Ore and the multiple product groups operating Rio Tinto's assets globally

  • Collaborate with contract owners and Category Managers by providing data-driven support and, more importantly, actionable insights. Lead initiatives that strategically channel procurement spend to align with procurement's key performance metrics

  • Provide support to deliver ad-hoc procurement related projects or initiatives

  • Provide support to the Principal Advisor PMO in facilitating leadership workshops and presentations

  • When required:

    • Co-ordinate training for stakeholders to upskill the capability and consistency in work practices across the procurement cohort

    • Work with stakeholders to define and document reporting or process requirements and lead in co-ordinating the process of development to embedding of the final deliverable fulfilling the role of a 'trusted advisor'

    • Liaising with functional stakeholders across Finance, Business Transformation, Product Groups and global procurement network to align methodologies for our annual targets and procurement priorities

What you'll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree qualification with demonstrable experience in co-ordination or PMO type activities and recent procurement experience

  • Postgraduate qualifications or MBA highly desirable in technical or commercial disciplines

  • Influencing, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities

  • A balanced view, strong proficiency and an aptitude which will see you enjoy 'leading from the front', presenting both your exceptional work and the work of the PMO team to stakeholders at all levels

  • Strong MS suite skills such as in, Excel, Powerpoint, Forms etc

  • Experience developing reporting PowerApps, dashboards using Power BI or similar is desirable but not essential
