Zambezi Meats operates 2 butcher stores in Engadine and Helensburg NSW.

We are currently seeking a Butcher Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team in a dynamic food-focused environment The successful applicant must be flexible enough to work at both locations, demonstrate outstanding organisational abilities and possess superior customer service skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering exceptional Customer Service
  • Receive payments via EFTPOS and cash
  • Merchandising and display of meat products
  • Cleaning duties
  • Assist with food preparation – Handling Raw Meat
  • Traying and wrapping a variety of gourmet meat products
  • Any other duties consistent with role

To be successful in this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience within the hospitality or food retail sector ideal
  • Must possess some knife skills and have high attention to detail
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be passionate about food and cooking
  • Be customer focused and always striving to deliver the best customer service.
  • Be self-starter, reliable, team focused and able to work under pressure
  • Have a high standard of personal presentation and cleanliness
  • Be able to make the most of every sales opportunity
  • Have full Australian work rights
